On August 31, 2016 Friends of DCL took members of the House Committee on Transportation and Environment on a tour of DCL. After visiting Cherry Creek and the State Park launch ramp, the tour ended up in Arrowhead Cove. Many aspects of lake aging and decline are manifest in this cove: sediment and pollutant accumulation, loss of water depth for boating use, poor water quality which impairs recreational enjoyment including swimming and fishing and various invasive aquatic species. This cove also receives pollutants from road run off from Rt 219 and head of cove and sewer spills from near-by pumping station. Currently no water quality monitoring is being conducted in this cove.
